Hosted by UMKC TalentLink, the Bridging Generations in the Workplace Conference on April 11, 2023, provided helpful workshop tools and takeaways to lead and work with multigenerational workforces.
Christel Gollnick and Jackie Spainhower from Roots & Rounds presented a talk titled “765 ALIVE: Intergenerational Awareness of Difference and Similarities.” UMKC Bloch School business communication professor Erin Blocher’s presentation discussed “Managing Intergenerational Communication.” Contributing his expert insight, Chief Marketing Officer Jeff Randolph from EAG Advertising & Marketing shed light on “How to Build a Strong Employer Brand for Multiple Generations.”
Thank you to conference sponsors which included lead sponsor University of Missouri System Office of Engagement, presenting sponsors Roots & Rounds and UMKC TalentLink, and supporting sponsors Altec Industries and WorkForge.
The conference provided thought-provoking insights to consider on how coworkers from different generations communicate and perceive information.
Age differences impact the ease and/or success of technology usage from employment applications to signing up for benefits to relaying updates to peers, customers, partners, and leaders via various platforms.
We also learned that brand marketing plays a role in how companies present themselves at every public-facing touch point to audiences from different generations, whether it involves potential applicants, customers, or employees..
Conference attendees learned about these insights and shared their own based on their experiences.
