Leadership Leawood is a new professional development program offered by the Leawood Chamber and presented by UMKC TalentLink.
The inaugural 2024 Leadership Leawood five-month program took participants on a deep dive into the community (at the local, regional, and state levels). Participants also explored their individual leadership and learning styles. At the conclusion of the nine sessions, class members gained a deeper understanding of the civic, non-profit, and corporate ecosystem as well as how to effectively lead within their own professional setting.
The Leawood Chamber sought a professional development partner who could deliver high-caliber training that challenged participants with varying degrees of experience to strengthen their leadership skills.
UMKC TalentLink’s expert facilitator Warren Wandling provided Leadership With Purpose training to the cohort in multiple sessions. This training may also be adapted in length and format to fit client needs.
In addition to Leadership with Purpose, Warren has also developed and led the signature program Essential Skills for First-Time Supervisors for other clients in partnership with UMKC TalentLink.
Twenty participants completed the Leadership Leawood program and Leadership With Purpose training. The program included dedicated time for Group Coaching and the Everything DiSC® Workplace Profile for each participant. Also available as an option, participants could schedule a one-hour, one-on-one coaching session with instructor Warren Wandling.
Available through UMKC TalentLink, Warren Wandling’s Leadership With Purpose certificate program guides participants on how to lead successfully with a purpose and plan.
